Santo Trafficante, Sr. (28 May 1886 in Cianciana, Sicily - 11 August 1954 in Tampa, Florida) was a Sicilian-born mobster.
Trafficante was the son of Alfonso and Lucia Trafficante. During the first part of the 20th century, most of the criminal rackets in Tampa were run by Charlie Dean, however, Dean's business was taken by Sicilian mobsters under Trafficante, and took overt control of the Tampa mafia after the death of mobster James Lumia in 1950. Trafficante was heavily involved in the operation of illegal bolita lotteries. Upon his death, the crime syndicate was taken over by his son, Santo Trafficante, Jr..
